Having been in electronics for 30 years I wanted to check the heater before crawling under the house. The heater is well constructed and should last many years. There is one flaw I would like to point out. There is an indicator in the plug that tells you if power is getting to the unit. If the thermostat were to fail you would lose protection but the power plug would still light leaving you to believe you were protected when in fact you would be vulnerable to have your pipes freeze.. I stuck the thermostat into a cup of ice for 5 minutes while watching an ohmmeter and observed that my new unit was working.

We wrapped this around the hose to keep it from freezing while camping. It kept the faucet from freezing as well as the hose. Worked down to about 20 degrees.

It went down to 0 F and I never had a single issue with my water line, worked perfectly and is an extremely well made product.
I would buy again without hesitation. I have this product covered with a single layer of insulation and the water line never froze.
Was a bit of a pain to install due to the stiffness but that is just because it is so well made and robust.

I’ve got this 60′ tape wrapped around 3/4 PVC. It is outside in an open metal building. The pipe is a watering line for the chickens (automatic drinker cups attached ). We’ve had Temps down to 4 degrees here, and the water in the line is just fine.
I wrapped foam insulation sleeves around the pipe, then completely covered in duct tape. Unfortunately, in some areas, the chickens have torn away that insulation. The heat tape is still keeping the water from freezing.
Very pleased with this product.

Works perfect under my home. I get temps in the low teens or even below. Never had a frozen pipe like last year. I feel very safe with this running and the thermostat only operates in bone chilling weather

Living in a travel trailer, keeps water hose from freezing. Attach to hose with zip ties and insert into pipe insulation and secure with zip ties.

Not a lot to say. Installed on a pvc waterline coming into and going through the garage. It turns in and keeps it from freezing. It’s 1deg in Ohio right now.

I didn’t use this for pipes, I placed it in my driveway. Each spring, with freeze/thaw cycles in Alaska my driveway creates ice dams and eventually floods the garage – the heat cable kept a trench open.

I needed this after my pipes during a wicked cold snap. None of this to be found on 3 counties surrounding mine. But it arrived 2 days later and with a serviceman charge to unthaw them so we could keep them open with this and hard wire it to my panel, this product has kept my water moving. It is a great product, very effective.

I wrapped it around the spigot of my 65 gal outdoor plastic water tank. The tank is enclosed in an insulated box and the cable kept it from freezing in 20 degree weather.
